What time is your reception open?

Our reception is open from 7am-8pm, 7 days a week.
Our kitchen is open daily from 5am-10pm and we have a guest laundry room that accepts major Australian and international cards.

I need to cancel my booking last-minute. Will I get a refund?

We have a strict 48 hours cancellation policy. If you wish to cancel or amend your booking, you must contact us before 2pm ACST two days before your arrival to get 100% of pre-payment refunded and avoid being charged.
If the cancellation or amend is made after 2pm ACST two days before your arrival, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, we will charge 100% of the first 2 nights and cancel the rest of the reserved nights.

Can I have visitors staying with me at Jump Inn?

We try to keep Jump Inn as friendly and safe as possible, so please check in with us if you can have a friend over for a couple of hours. Please note that visitors are not permitted after 10pm.

I’m going on a tour for a few days and staying at Jump Inn before and after, can I leave my luggage with you?

You most certainly can, we have luggage room where you can store your luggage and belongings securely whilst you’re away.

Check-out time is 10am, but my flight is in the afternoon. Can I check-out later?

Due to housekeeping, we need you to leave the room by 10am. However, you are more than welcome to hang around the hostel, store your luggage, use the wi-fi and the pool.

Your reception is open until 8pm, what should I do if I arrive after this time?

If you know you will be arriving after 8pm, please let us know beforehand by email or phone, so we can send you late check-in instructions. If you arrive later than planned, the front gate will be locked so please call us on 08 8929 1609 so we can let you in. Please note that there will be a charge of $25 for unannounced late check-ins.

I’m flying into Alice Springs Airport, what’s the best way to get to your hostel?

There’s a daily shuttle bus service from and to the airport operated by Alice Wanderer Airport Transfers. Price is $16.50 p.p. one way and tickets can be purchased directly at the airport or can be booked online.
If there’s a group of you, you can grab a taxi and it will cost around $40 all together. We are a small town so we don’t have any Uber, sorry.

Where is Jump Inn located?

Jump Inn is about 10-15 minutes walking distance to the town centre. If you cycle or drive, it will take you approximately 5 minutes. You can check how to get here in our Location page.

What are the nearby attractions?

Reptile Centre – 5 minutes walk
Royal Flying Doctors Centre – 5 minutes walk
Olive Pink Botanic Garden – 15 minutes walk
Todd Mall – 15 minutes walk
Anzac Hill – 25 minutes walk
Telegraph Station Reserve – 50 minutes walk

Are there any supermarkets close by?

There are both a Woolworths and Coles approximately 1.3km away, both located in the town centre. K Mart and Target are located in the town centre as well for any additional needs.

Do you have lockers in your dorms?

Every dorm room has a locker room and a locker for each guest, you just need to provide your own lock.

Does your WiFi work all throughout the hostel?

You bet it does, you can browse the high-speed internet all day long. Whether you’re in the pool, the kitchen, the laundry, your room or in your car out the front, the internet is accessible to all hostel guests.

Do you offer bike hire?

We’re not currently offering bike hire but we’re planning to start that soon. If you wish to hire a bike, you can do that at Outback Cycling which is located on Todd Mall, the main street in town.

Is it safe to drink tap water in Alice Springs?

In Australia we’re lucky to be able have safe drinking water. Therefore all tap water at Jump Inn is safe to drink as well as all water in the city centre of Alice Springs. However, when camping, remember to pack plenty of water as there is limited access to facilities in the desert.

Do you offer work for accommodation exchange?

We often accept work for accommodation, but it does depend on your skill set, the season and the current workload of the hostel. It’s best if you come in and have a chat with us but if you’re not in Alice Springs, please send us an email to and we will get back to you.
